Event:
Florida State Florist Association
Date
June 12-14, 2015
Location:
Caribe Royale Resort, Orlando

Last week we had the pleasure of attending the Florida State Florist Association's convention. We were only able to attend on Sunday due to our busy wedding commitments on Saturday. The roster was full of amazing design from 3 very talented designers. To tell the truth, it is shocking to me that for the price, we had the pleasure to see such talent! I would like to share some of the designs that we saw there.
Here is a picture of Pim van den Acker with a piece I actually bought in the silent auction.  The structure is complete, we will only need to add flowers in tubes to use it repeatedly!

Those were a few of the arrangements that Pim created on stage while sharing his strong philosophy of designing with ease, not to over think and always create with a smile!

These pieces were done by Joyce Mason Monheim AIFD.  Joyce taught the crowd how to create party work while explaining the principles and elements of design!

Francoise Weeks showed us how she is able to create a very organic, natural, earthy look from the use of greens, succulents, wood and flowers for statement arrangements and wearable art.

Over the course of the day we saw 3 distinctively different styles and philosophies and as always, we were able to come home inspired by aspects of each designer.

With touches of lace and antique gold, Ashley and Thomas's beach wedding had an airy, romantic elegance. The floral color scheme of soft peach, cream, and blush contrasted beautifully against the bridal party's navy attire. We used fluffy, feminine flowers including garden roses, peonies, ranunculas and football mums.

Who knew a golfcart could look so romantic!? We loved adding a floral touch to the newlywed's "Just Married" cart.

We added a few sweet fresh cut roses for the flower girl's hair.

On this rustic wooden beach deck, we drapped gauzy white curtains, tied back with a large spray of florals, for the perfect aisle entraince.

Down the aisle we placed floral topped lanters tied with velvet ribbon, which were later used at the reception for soft lighting.

At the alter, we added simple glass vases with floating candles and  petals.

The reception's table arrangements featured hydrangias, garden roses and peonies bursting out of a golden vase. We loved how well they paired with the murcury glass votives.

This was an especially cute drink station! Equipped with paper straws and rockcandy stirring sticks.

Victoria and Adam's event was a beautiful example of a "Wine Themed Wedding". The Color scheme of white, blush, bordeaux, and accents of silver blended beautifully with their rustic and quirky decorative elements. We exclusively ordered California grown florals for the arrangements to honor their theme...

For Victoria's bouquet we chose cream colored peonies, and roses with pops of bordeaux colored dahlias to represent drops of red wine. Delicately dripping andromeda and silver brunia added a rustic texture to the lush arrangement  and we finished it with a beautiful satin ribbon for an accent of silver.

We had a blast with Adam and his groomsmen's playful boutonniere wine corks were the perfect touch!

The ceremony featured artfully stacked wine crates, large rustic wine barrels, and romantic lanterns. We chose to create large, lush arrangements with bright pops of green to contrast the soft wood.

We repurposed many of the ceremony's arrangements for the reception, letting no peony go to waste! Each table featured lanterns to mimmic the ceremony, or cylinders of fresh cut flowers. Lastly, we layered an artful stachy leaf on each menu to accent it's beautiful wine-stained design.
